Both televisions are older Samsung models. The televisions I tried stubbornly display "no signal", and no amount of extending or duplicating the display helps. I installed Lenovo's Vantage software and updated all the drivers in the machine. I downloaded and installed the latest Intel 4000 graphics driver. Now that I have my X230 working properly (I posted a couple of months ago about its faulty wireless card, now replaced) and a fresh, fully updated install of Windows 10 on it, I decided to buy a cable to convert DisplayPort output to HDMI so I can connect it up to a television.
